One of the holy grail species of its genus due to its remote habitat. It occurs in a very isolated and one of Lita’s last primary rainforest in all the region that is inhabited by the Awá tribe. This plant as well as several many others are in danger to rapid deforestation due to illegal timber harvesting and now illegal mining being done by foreign entities. We have committed ourselves to partner with the Awá like other communities in the past that are serious in protecting their lands through all available forms we practice. Due to its critical status we encourage interested growers to familiarize themselves with the genus and gaining experience with other species before trying this one.
