One of the smaller sized species in the genus, this species was considered a bucephalandra variant until it was described as a schismatoglottis in the early 2000s. It acclimates to submerged aquatic culture in highly oxygenated aquariums with CO2. It's size makes it perfect for small glass exhibits, but tends to be overlooked because of its slow growth and relative limited availability in cultivation
