A wide spread species from from Costa Rica all the way down to the northern Andes of Ecuador. Our green variant was originally sourced from southern Colombia in Nariño. The green form tends to be a little more common compared to the darker colored red form and in our experience a little more temperamental in care requirements. The green form although can get bigger in size compared to the darker colored variant it is absolutely crucial to not allow these species to dry out completely and to make sure the foliage does get a draft from ventilation every so often to not allow water to sit on the foliage which would invite rotting to which this form is very prone to. Like all racinaea good water quality is a must to be successful with this genus.
