A uncommon plant found throughout the Pacific Ocean on various islands from West India all the way to Australia. More commonly seen in Java and the surrounding islands this species tends to grow as a terrestrial and sometimes as an epiphyte on trees. Very robust species once established and may be able to grow in climates with high humidity outdoor climates such as in the south east of the United States.
