One of the larger species of Philodendron, it is found in the southern Choco rainforests of Narino, Colombia and Ecuador. Primarily observed as a terrestrial growing species, it will occasionally climb. It is highly variable in growing conditions, but more common in warmer niches where rain is very abundant. Our stock plants originate from Esmeraldas and Narino.
