Only known from just a couple of remote locations in the central Colombian choco this illustrious philodendron was the prized species that has been featured in many publications in recent years and rightly so because of its vibrant long dark colored foliage with rippled patterns. It has the capability to produce very lengthy foliage when properly cared for and will pick up in growth once it has begun producing leaves near 3’ in length. We suggest only upgrading pot sizes as the plant grows and a Mount will encourage somewhat faster growth based well based on experience. It will not tolerate consistent cooler temps so care must be taken to prevent cold damage especially when kept and a houseplant subject.
