A classic philodendron species with a long horticultural history dating back to the days of old when European explorers began cultivating this species from plants brought back to Europe. Only found so far in the south eastern cordilleras of Ecuador where this philodendron primarily grows as a terrestrial. Very easy to grow and stays on the smaller side when compared to similar species such as plowmanii or pastazum.
