A philodendron species that is still up for debate for what species it truly might be. Our stock plant originally came from north eastern Pichincha in Ecuador in the mid elevation range bordering the amazonas. It has been brought to to light that this species was also found westward from Pichincha towards the Lita province. Despite its somewhat patchy range across northern Ecuador there have not been enough recordings of this species in this field to properly analyze if both clones of this unique species can indeed be the same. Based on photographs of this unknown plant from both locales it would appear to be the same but until a flower is seen from both plants it will be considered unknown until then. One fact for sure that can be certain is that this plant is not the true pinnatilobum which occurs in the amazon of Brazil and other countries.
