This species is native to the Riau Islands of Sumatra, Indonesia where for some time it was thought to be a labisia of some sort. Urnulata tends to be a variable with 3 color forms. This type I regard as the normal “typical” color variant as it is the most common in sunlit areas of the forests Riau.
