A species found only in the Chocó rainforests of Ecuador, this species is very abundant in the lower elevations in and around Mindo all the way to Puerto Quito and beyond.
The San Miguel locale tends to produce completely red undersides, whereas the majority of plants usually have partially spotted red undersides.
