Begonia pavonina (northern form)

$35.00 USD

A species found in and around the Cameron Highlands region of peninsular Malaysia. In nature this species tends to be variable with its foliage and iridescence depending on where you may find it. It does share the same habitat as other begonia species and has been observed with pavonina, occasionally getting hybridized with species such as decora and others.

The northern Cameron Highlands populations tend to be bigger in size and a much darker blue iridescence (sometimes almost purple), whereas southern populations tend be smaller and have a much more metallic vibrant blue resembling that of a morpho butterfly’s wings.
