A southern Ecuador/ north Peru Andean native this species prefers to be kept in intermediate to higher elevation conditions. We’ve come to believe that it prefers cooler temperatures with frequent drafts or wind as although it thrives high up in heavy fog cloud forests it still needs drafts to prevent water from sitting on the foliage and rotting.
