A seldom seen gesneriad that ranges from central Mexico to Ecuador. This particular clone originated from Costa Rica along the Pacific coast in the Osa Peninsula region. This plant can go through a resting period where the foliage will drop after several bloom cycles and enter a dormancy with only the tubers of the plants remaining, so care must be taken to not toss out the substrate these plants can be resting within – dormancy usually lasts up to 3 months, sometimes longer if not enough moisture is present.
