A true rheophytic anthurium from the Lita and northern region of Ecuador found in rising water zones of mountain creeks/streams. The foliage as adapted to a be able to not be swept away or torn form sudden torrential rain floods (which are common during the rainy season in the Andes) and have a lovely black colored flower.
