Philodendron esmeraldense is found from central Colombia to Northern Ecuador growing in various types of environments both low and higher elevation rainforests with abundant moisture present. This larger sized species makes for a showy specimen if regularly fed as it tends to be a heavy nutrient absorber and can even be acclimated as a houseplant if done with care.
