Although it resembles the Asiatic genus of Freycenitia this juvenile stage growth of cyclanthe is one of the only species that have such unique physiology in the juvenile growth stage. Once this species has settled on a location the upper primary foliage will begin to change bearing resemblance to typical jungle cyclanthes such as of Asplundia. We want to thank our friend Michael who did the investigation to identify this species. bissectus is widespread throughout the tropics in Central and South America in lower elevations.
