The largest sized biophytum species we have ever grown and encountered in the field that can be found in the Ecuadorean Amazonas down to central Peru. It is easy to grow in high humid environments and just like all other species in the genus, this plant will fold in and “droop” its foliage during heavy rainfall. Propagation is fairly easy with mature plants dispersing seeds from bursting seed pods. This particular species tends to be more common in and around watersheds.
