A what is thought to be a lighter colored form of Begonia mayensis that was originally found in the central region of Peru in lower elevation rainforest. Mayensis’ rhizome tends to grow to longer lengths and will grow along the forest floor once they have become too top heavy and fall to the ground, although this species grows upright when able. Our largest plants in captivity have easily reached close to 5’ in length.
