Obtained from a friend in Ecuador some years ago he claimed this species to be from the Tamarindo region of Ecuador. This species has proven to be relatively easy to care for so long as adequate moisture is provided and has been tried as a windowsill subject and glasshouse specimen. Being grown in higher humidity will accelerate the growth of this faster growing species but can be trained easily as a houseplant that will adapt to a wide variety of temperatures so long as not near freezing of course.
