A unique Peruvian clone of this Amazonian philodendron that is found throughout much of northern South America. This particular clone is pretty special as unlike the common green colored form seen throughout the amazon this one has red undersides and has only been found in the lower elevations of the Huallaga River towards Tingo Maria in Peru. I’ve yet to hear of any other locales displaying the red undersides like this Peruvian clone but once I was sent a Insitu photo confirming the legitimacy of the information I was given about this particular clone, I have no doubts about its origins since I am aware there have been many araceae focused expeditions in that region of Peru in recent years. Care should be taken the same as the green colored form and not let it endure prolonged periods of cold temperatures as foliage will “melt” and suffer tremendously. If grown in a warmer humid environment you will be rewarded with a show quality plant in no time.
