At long last we have finally identified this columnea we found in the Puyo/Pastaza region of Ecuador many years ago. We confirmed the name after visiting a nursery of our friends in Ecuador who happened to have this species in cultivation. Columnea brenneri is only found in and along the eastern side of the Andes from central Ecuador down to near the Peruvian border.
